Worry - Part I
Worry - Part II
Focus Verse: "Casting all your cares upon him; for he careth for you." - I Peter 5:7
This lesson deals more with what causes us to worry rather than worry itself. I asked the ladies to rank a list of ten things in order of causes them to worry the greatest, and what causes them to worry the least.
Worry - Part III
Worry is our longest lesson. I feel that it's the one thing that can inhibit our relationship with Christ because it creates doubt and our faith isn't fully put in Christ and what He has promised. In the last lesson we brought up the scripture in Matthew 6:19-34.
Discouragement
If you define discouragement, it is "the act of making something less likely to happen or making people less likely to do something. A feeling of having lost hope or confidence."
Discouragement comes on by things not happening the way we think they should. We can get ideas of the way we want situations to play out.
Overwhelmed
Scripture Focus: "Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me." - John 14:1
Have you ever felt totally overwhelmed because of circumstances over which you have no control? The definition of overwhelmed is: "bury or drown beneath a huge mass." Life most times can turn into our huge mass and we drown underneath it. We are to go to Christ in times of trouble.
Impatience
Patience is something we all struggle with. It is an irritation with anything that causes delay. A restless desire for change and excitement. When you are impatient, it causes you to feel agitated, irritated, angry, rushed, and many other things. For me, driving puts my patience to the test more than anything. Nothing gets me more flustered. I feel my blood pressure rising just thinking about it.
